Liposuction - your professional Liposuction in Czech Republic

Before the Liposuction
About 4 weeks before the surgery, you should reduce smoking. Moreover alcohol should be avoided. On the day of the surgery you should not have your menstruation. About 2 weeks before the surgery you should not take anticoagulants (Aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid containing drugs). Not later than 3 weeks before the surgery the birth control pill must be discontinued.
In order to conduct the surgery you need a blood count and an electrocardiogram. In case you want to have the results before your appointment with your surgeon, your general practitioner can provide you with them. The tests that you need in order to decide if you are ready for the operation will be made directly at the clinic.
Process of the Liposuction
Before the surgery you will be informed during a detailed consultation talk on how the surgery is done. During this consultation you will be informed about possible complications and risks. It is advisable that you write down all the questions you have concerning the surgery, before your appointment at the clinic.
The surgery will be conducted under general anaesthesia. With liposuctions of a smaller scale (under 1000ml) it is possible to use regional anaesthesia. Before the anesthesia you will be advised by an anaesthetist about the risks, complications and possible alternatives to a narcosis. The anaesthetist will be present during the surgery. A general anaesthesia means stress for the body. During narcosis risks or complications can occur, depending on previous diseases and your general state of health.
After the Liposuction
Right after the surgery you get compression clothing which you have to wear 6-8 weeks day and night. Then, you must wear it for another 2-3 weeks (depending on the volume of fat that got removed) only at night. The compression clothing supports healing and the aesthetic form of the area remains.
After the surgery you have to count with different types of pain (like when you have aching muscles), haematoma and swellings. This can again be alleviated by the compression clothing, thus it subsides usually after 2-3 weeks. Please only take those drugs that you get at the clinic.
Disorders in the sensitivity of the skin (feeling of numbness) at the affected areas usually ease after a certain time. Usually you stay in the clinic for one night after the surgery. The next day you have a thorough follow-up examination before you go home. To make it easier for you, you should have an accompanying person with you, as you should not drive home yourself. Make sure that you have enough breaks that allow you to move in order to remove the risk of thrombosis.
After a few days you can take up easy activities again. However, you should not do sports for about 6-8 weeks, sunbaths, solarium and sauna only after 8-10 weeks. After about 4 days you can take showers again. After 10 days you can take showers without the corsage. From this time on, you can take off the compression clothing for half an hour a day.
Make sure that you drink enough after the liposuction, in order to balance the loss of liquid during the surgery. With a well-balanced nutrition and some sports you can easily keep the shape of your body. Support your body by eating enough vitamins. To improve the elasticity of your skin you should apply body lotion, massages, take cold showers, and do peelings.
Body jet procedure
In 2004, the classic method of liposuction with tumescent technology was revolutionized by so-called water jet assisted liposuction (WAL – water jet assisted liposuction). Through water jet-assisted liposuction and water jet-assisted fat transfer, the fat is gently removed from the tissue and suctioned out at the same time.
The essence of this method is the injection of small amounts of anesthetic fluid through a pressure pump. This anesthetic liquid is injected in the form of a water jet into the fatty tissue to be suctioned. The fat cells are then rinsed out with a mild jet of water and sucked out. The surrounding connective tissue and blood vessels remain intact.
The Body Jet procedure requires only 1/3 of the amount of anesthetic fluid used in tumescent liposuction. This allows larger amounts of fat to be removed with minimal blood loss. Considering that smaller amounts of solvents are used, it is possible to remove a certain amount of fatty tissue very precisely.
Advantages of the Body-Jet procedure compared to other methods of liposuction:
- Better distribution of the tumescent solution in the area to be vacuumed
- Minimal damage to soft tissue
- Shorter operation times
- Possibility of more precise suction of the fatty tissue
- Minimizing blood loss
- Shorter convalescence time
- Shorter lasting swelling
- Minimal burden of medication on the organism
- Possible use for corrections after other liposuction methods
- Easier removal and transfer of fat, so-called lipofilling
BodyTite
Using high-frequency radio waves, the fat is sucked out and the skin is additionally tightened. Controlled heat is emitted through a cannula equipped with electrodes, which liquefies fat cells and can be specifically suctioned out. The heating of the tissue promotes the shrinkage of the connective tissue fibers and naturally tightens the skin with the help of the newly formed collagen fibers.
Vaser procedure
VASER liposuction is a gentle and precise technology for liposuction with a tightening effect using ultrasound. The ultrasound probe causes the fat cells to burst by causing them to vibrate. It is then easy to suck out the cells in a targeted and even manner. This method protects the blood vessels and nerve endings.
Possible risks and complications of the Liposuction
Within the first 24 hours the wound often dissociates liquid (mostly a rest of the injected saline solution). Swellings can remain 3-6 months and longer (i. e. in the neck). At the area of the joints swellings occur particularly often.
As the reactions of the tissue can never be predicted exactly, possible irregularities of the skin have to be anticipated. These, however, subside normally within several months.
Like after every surgery secondary bleeding cannot be excluded. For this reason you should avoid taking acetylsalicylic acid containing drugs (Aspirin). Despite antiseptic measures inflammations can occur, thus as a preventive measure you get antibiotics.
After a surgery there can occur blood clots in the main veins (thrombosis), these can be carried further and thus block a blood vessel (embolism). As prevention it can be considered to take anticoagulant drugs (i. e. injections of heparin), however these cause an increased bleeding tendency and in very rare cases grave dysfunctions of blood coagulation.
Even when the wound healing is normal, scars can initially become red or harden. After a while they will fade, they become inconspicuous. You will be informed on further risks and possible side-effects in a comprehensive handout.
The description of the operation is generally phrased and can’t replace the personal consultation with the cosmetic surgeon. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to show before/after pictures, due to the fact that this is forbidden by the Law on Advertising in the Health Care System.
